Fetal Umbilical Vein Flow in the Classification of Fetuses with Growth Restriction

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objectives: To assess umbilical vein (UV) blood flow in fetal growth restriction (FGR) and pregnancy with small for gestational age (SGA) fetus. evaluate the predictive capacity of UV (QUV) discrimination SGA fetuses from FGR before after 32 weeks pregnancy. Methods: Sixty-five women a recent diagnosis or were enrolled underwent complete Doppler examination comprehending QUV. We collected (n = 34), early-FGR 9), late-FGR 22) fetuses. Results: diameter was lower early compared to SGA, while time-averaged maximum velocity (TAMXV) only early-FGR. QUV corrected estimated weight (cQUV) significantly SGA. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves analysis cQUV showed significant weeks. Conclusions: evaluation allows distinguishing FGR. assessment should be taken into consideration future research new parameters differentiate

Role of resistance training with the approach of blood flow restriction in skeletal muscle cell growth

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the response of ERK1/2 protein and muscular morphological adaptations to a period of resistance training with local blood flow restriction. Materials and methods: Twenty healthy male Wistar rats without clinically evident disease (5 weeks old, 120±7 g weight) were divided into four equal groups: control, control with limited blood flow...

The change of umbilical cord components in intrauterine growth restriction comparative with normal growth fetuses by using sonographic measurement.

OBJECTIVE To determine the diameter changes of umbilical cord components in intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) fetuses comparative with normal growth fetuses by using the ultrasonogram. MATERIAL AND METHOD A cross sectional study was performed with 140 singleton pregnant women who was attended at Maternal-Fetal Medicine unit, Thammasat University Hospital between June, 2007 to May, 2009. ...

Behaviour of the Foramen Ovale Flow in Fetuses with Intrauterine Growth Restriction

Background Foramen ovale (FO) flow may be altered in IUGR. This study was designed to test this hypothesis. Methods Forty pregnant women (24-38 weeks) were divided into 3 groups: group I (IUGR), group II (adequate growth and maternal hypertension), and group III (normal controls). Impedance across the FO was assessed by the FO pulsatility index (FOPI): (systolic velocity - presystolic velocit...

Monitoring of fetuses with intrauterine growth restriction: longitudinal changes in ductus venosus and aortic isthmus flow.

OBJECTIVES To explore in growth-restricted fetuses the sequence of changes in aortic isthmus and ductus venosus blood flow in relation to other arterial Doppler parameters commonly used to evaluate fetal wellbeing. METHODS Umbilical and middle cerebral arteries, ductus venosus and aortic isthmus were explored serially by means of pulsed Doppler in a cohort of singleton small-for-gestational a...

Prospect for vaginal delivery of growth restricted fetuses with abnormal umbilical artery blood flow.

BACKGROUND The best mode of delivery in cases of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) with umbilical artery blood flow changes is not well elucidated. OBJECTIVE To evaluate outcome in IUGR with umbilical artery blood flow changes planned for vaginal delivery after a negative oxytocin challenge test (OCT). METHODS In 84 term singleton pregnancies with suspected IUGR and no unanimous indica...
